Our Story
IT ALL STARTED ONCE UPON A TIME…
Under the blazing sun of the digital frontier, in a land where tumbleweeds of memes rolled through barren social media feeds, a young woman named Kayla saddled up to her trusty smartphone. She squinted at the glowing screen, her fingers dancing on the virtual keyboard like a gunslinger's swift draw.
Allie, a digital damsel in a vast, pixelated wilderness, had been scrolling through her feed, when suddenly a message notification appeared—a telegram in the digital wind. It was from Kayla, a mysterious woman with eyes as deep as the canyons of the old West:
"Your eyebrows are on point."
The prairies of the World Wide Web had never witnessed such a compliment, and Kayla's heart pounded like the hooves of a wild stallion in a canyon chase. She watched the tiny typing bubble, a digital tumbleweed rolling through the vast expanse of their conversation. Would Allie respond, or would she drift away like a ghost on the endless digital frontier?
As Kayla awaited the response, the familiar strains of an old western ballad played softly in the background. The chords of her heartstrings resonated with the uncertainty of the modern age. Little did she know that this seemingly innocuous message would set in motion a tale of love, adventure, and digital romance that would rival even the wildest stories of the old West.
Under the virtual moonlight, Allie and Kayla continued their digital courtship, sharing stories, jokes, and heart-to-heart conversations that spanned the vast plains of cyberspace. With each passing day, their connection deepened, and the longing to meet in the real world grew stronger.
Finally, the day of their long-awaited rendezvous arrived. Allie and Kayla decided to meet at Banjo’s in Bathurst, a charming little café. They shared stories, laughs, and dreams, creating a connection that was even more vibrant in person. And then came the moment to order lunch. Allie, feeling a tad peckish, scanned the menu and decided to go for something comforting on the slightly chilly day: soup (ask for Kayla’s opinions on soup).
With their love story continuing like a classic Western ballad, Kayla and Allie embarked on a series of memorable dates, each one as thrilling as a high-stakes poker game. They enjoyed evenings of two-stepping at local dance halls, rode horseback through the open range, and shared quiet sunsets by the campfire, their hearts dancing in the flickering firelight.
Their love was as untamed as the prairie, and as the seasons changed, they decided to make it official. They moved into their first place, a cozy cabin on the edge of a bustling town named Jordan Springs; their loyal companion in tow - a hound named Harlow, bounded through the threshold, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the story of the Wild West.
Their love had thrived in the heartland, but now, Allie and Kayla were ready to embark on a new adventure together, one that would take them across the ocean to the Old World. Their journey began in the City of Love, Paris, where they strolled hand in hand along the Seine, kissed under the sparkling lights of the Eiffel Tower, and savoured croissants and espresso at quaint sidewalk cafes. The escapade brought out the adventurous side of the couple (however, don’t try the grey stuff it is in fact not delicious).
In the enchanting backdrop of Disneyland Paris, amidst the twinkling lights and whimsical fairytales, Allie and Kayla's love story reached a magical turning point. With Main Street aglow and fireworks due to paint the night sky, Kayla dropped to one knee, a sparkling ring in hand. Allie's eyes sparkled like Cinderella's glass slipper, and she said yes with the kind of joy that only a place like Disneyland Paris could conjure. It was a proposal straight out of a storybook (a storybook that also included overpriced ponchos).
'twas a sight to behold, a tale as meandering as a river's course. Allie and Kayla, engaged in the heart of Disneyland Paris, appeared as steady as two cowpokes with a well-oiled six-shooter, yet as indecisive as tumbleweeds in a dusty breeze. They lounged beneath the starry sky, sharing a bottle of sarsaparilla and jesting about their engagement, never quite settling on a wedding date. The saloon gossipmongers swore they were more laid-back than a snoozing rattlesnake on a sun-warmed rock, a pair of lovers who would tie the knot when a lonesome coyote sang a love song. Their love, though, was as timeless as the prairie, and even if they never pinned down that elusive date, it was clear they were content to wander through life's trails together.
Time drifted by as slowly as molasses in winter, but during this time Kayla and Allie decided it was time to expand their family once more. They welcomed a pup with no personality whatsoever into their midst, whom they affectionately named Alfie but lovingly referred to as Chips for his resemblance to a potato.
The backdrop to this chapter in their Western tale was the tumultuous Covid lockdowns, but it didn't dampen their frontier spirit. With unwavering determination, they rode the trails of life to acquire a rustic homestead deep in the heart of the Old West (aka: Kingswood).
After seven long years of dancing around the subject like a pair of hesitant gunslingers, Allie and Kayla finally rustled up the courage to set a date for their wedding. It was a decision as deliberate as a slow, steady draw at high noon, and their love, which had weathered the storms of time, was now ready to bask in the warmth of a new dawn. The Old West might've seen its share of showdowns, but this date was set to be the most anticipated event under the open prairie skies.
